Christopher and Jonathan's Birthday party

So mommy and daddy got lazy this year and had a combined birthday party. Jonathan's birthday is July 20th and Christopher's is the 14th of September - So we had the kids party on August 12th. The day was HOT HOT HOT and for those of you who remember my yard has trees only on the perimeter so we have a few items to make shade. Of course, Daddy waited until 1 pm to start putting them up. The party started at 1 pm. I had everything that had to do with the food and stuff ready and waiting. Steve on the other hand , NOT. Granny was cleaning chairs, Chere was cleaning the tables, Gramps and Matt were helping put up the canopies. And as always something was broken - the 10' umbrella (it has been broken since last summer). I had to be teased all day that we have a beautiful 16 x 28 deck on the back of the house and our very nice walmart special patio set is still in the shed from last fall. Can you tell that I don't like the heat?!? We had a very nice time. I took the lazy way out for food, cold cut trays, cold salads and chips. Melissa made the potato salad, granny and gramps got the soda and I did the rest. My macaroni salad looked - not so good - I didn't put enough milk in to keep the mayo from clumping. The garden salad went untouched because everyone ate the potato salad - way to go Lis, compliments from all around. The boys have plenty of toys so I had asked everyone to buy clothes. Christopher didn't like that so much. His exact words were - why did all these people bring me clothes, Where are my toys? From the mouths of babes. Granny bought them lightnin' Aqueen chairs, Jonathan even had to test them out right away. (she also gave them walmart gift cards so we can go shopping - thanks granny and gramps) Aunt Nicole and Uncle Justin gave the kids each an outfit but also brought them each a color wonder poster - they opened them yesterday. They actually found something more exciting to do with the markers. Check out the pictures above. We had a care bear cake from Hannaford's and mommy made a care bear jell-o mold, in green because that is the color of Jonathan's favorite bear the day we went shopping. As you can see by the last pictures, Christopher played very hard on Sunday and was VERY grouchy by the end of the day.
