Renee's birthday party

Started like any regular party. there was roller skating with the kids. I laced up a pair of skates and took the kids on the rink. I did fairly well. I only fell once - but made it count. I was holding Jonathan's hand when I fell. So I displaced most of my weight away from him and took the brunt of the fall on my left wrist. I finished the party. Still skating but my wrist hurt more and more as the day progressed. That evening Karyn and I were supposed to go shopping. I opted for a trip to the ER. I left there in a splint, no visible fracture but the assumption that I did damage to my "snuff box". That is the medical term for the bone below your thumb. I went to see a surgeon today. He cut off the splint and examined the hand. Put me in another type of splint. Told me to only take this one off to bathe. NICE! I have a follow up with him in 2 weeks. He explained that the non-displaced fracture can't be seen on the xray from the time if injury. I looked it up when I got home tonight and found out that a healing fracture is easier to see in this type of injury. Stay tuned for details in a couple of weeks. And Karyn just had to take a picture in the ER!

Surprise Visit

We went to Great Nana and Papa's house. Jonathan's physical therapy is in Concord so I zigged when I should have zagged and headed to Northwood. When I got on their road I called and asked her if she was busy. She said no, why? So I said, we are coming to visit and I will be there in 5 minutes. Oh gosh were they excited. Uncle Butch was there and it was dinner time. Yummo, boiled dinner and dandilion green salad....Delicious!

Jonathan's new crush

This is Jonathan's physical therapist Miss Shannon. He adores her and she has said that she wishes all the men in her life were as happy to see her as he is.

Christopher and Jonathan

Christopher and Jonathan accompanied me to the doctor's today. I have pulled a muscle in my back. The pain is in between my shoulder blades and it is terrible. While I was at the doctors office I discussed with him the pain that I have in my hip. I have bursitis in both hips. My left hip has been has been bothering me more than usual. I think it has to do with the 3 inch heels that I wear everyday and the fact that my lazy butt has not walked so much in 6 years. My cubicle is on the 2nd floor and at the end of a long hallway....Lots of walking. Well the doctor today checked the hip and found the inflamed bursa sack so we decided on a cortisone shot. I prefer those to taking anti-inflammatory medication. They make my bruising easy much worse. Well the kids were so worried about me and the shot that Christopher covered his ears and Jonathan sat in the corner. This shot for some reason hurt more than any other (my doc uses a local to ease the pain) and the kids were a bit upset about it. So when we were done and Jonathan took my pants off his head we headed out the door. At the check out place Christopher told me that I was very brave and could pick out a sticker. The doctor was behind me and he was laughing along with his staff. After the doctors we went to the grocery store (crazy as Jonathan calls it) and I bought the boys sunglasses for being good today.

Let's see

My most favorite thing is everyday when I get home from work I get to do Maddie's hair! LOVE IT I have been working for 6 weeks now. I love it. My actual job is Sales and Marketing Assistant but this week I have been working the phones and helping customers. Can't believe that I missed it this much. Kids are acclimating well to the changes. They are beginning to get better with their behavior for Auntie Karyn. Maddie behaves well while here and the boys behave better for her at her house. Jonathan's school has been extremely helpful with the transition too. His speech therapy is going well and he just loves his physical therapy. I think he is getting too spoiled though. His therapist is a tall blond that massages his feet once a week. Christopher has actually expressed that he wished god made him born with crooked feet so he could see Ms. Shannon every week. LOL - They just love the ladies. Jonathan and I ran errands on Thursday and we stopped by my work. I had him inside to meet my co-workers and of course his favorite was Karen. And yes she is blond!

Mom has gone back to work

So I wanted to post that I have rejoined the workforce.  I have gone back to work at Hitachi in Manchester.  Yes back to work and back to work at my old place of employment in the department that I last worked in.  So it is really cool!  There are some familiar faces and some new people to meet.

Karyn is helping with the kiddos while I am at work.  She picks the boys up from school.  Makes them their lunch when they get back to the house and greets the daycare kids.  She hangs out here until I get home.  So none of this would be possible without her help!

I will keep you posted about how we all do with this change.
